What is this Skirting?
The Colonial Timber Skirting Cover, also known as a Colonial Capped Skirting Board, adds traditional character to any interior. Its curved, decorative edge creates a soft transition between wall and floor, and it brings warm detail into older or heritage properties. This profile works well with Queenslanders, coastal cottages, and classic family homes. Additionally, it pairs neatly with timber flooring, hybrid flooring, and tiles. For example, the curved detail complements traditional trims, mouldings, and architraves.
Where This Profile Works Best
This timber skirting cover slides directly over your existing skirting boards, so you can upgrade without demolition or wall repairs. As a result, installation stays fast, clean, and dust-free. It is ideal during flooring replacements, rental updates, and staged renovations. Furthermore, you can simply apply adhesive, position the board, and secure it with a finishing nail gun. In addition, you can paint the timber to match your interior. Moreover, the curved design helps soften straight wall lines, which improves balance in older homes.
Installation at a Glance
First, measure each wall and cut the boards to length. Next, run construction adhesive along the back of each piece. Then press the skirting cover over the old skirting and secure it with a finishing nail gun. Afterward, fill nail holes and lightly sand the surface. Finally, paint to complete the look. Therefore, both trades and confident DIY renovators can achieve a refined result quickly. Meanwhile, the Colonial profile provides a familiar finish that many homeowners already recognise.
Why Professionals Choose This Profile
Homeowners, installers, and builders across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast choose this profile because it delivers classic design with long-term durability. Additionally, the solid timber construction stands up to everyday bumps, vacuum impacts, and furniture movement. Consequently, this profile suits hallways, dining rooms, and formal living spaces. When you want a timeless finish that enhances the character of your home, the Colonial Timber Skirting Cover provides a smooth upgrade with minimal effort. In addition, its detailed edge adds interest without feeling heavy.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
The Colonial profile delivers decorative charm with its curved edge. It suits both heritage homes and modern interiors that need softer detail. Each solid timber board provides strength and a smooth surface that is easy to paint. Because it protects walls from everyday wear, this profile works well in busy homes. It also enhances spaces with classic furniture, mouldings, and vintage décor elements.
INSTALLATION
Apply construction adhesive to the back of the board, and then press it firmly over your existing skirting. Next, secure it using a finishing nail gun to ensure long-term support. After installation, paint or stain the surface to match your interior. This capped skirting board suits hallways, living rooms, bedrooms, and dining areas.
